is the umbrella organization (in charge
of) for about 140 schools

handles administrative and pedagogic issues
of schools under its supervision
•
promotes innovative actions and application
of new technologies in primary education, working in close association
with School Advisors, specific state services and principals.

takes special actions in order to decrease
early school drop out and increase the integration of students
from underprivileged or vulnerable social groups (e.g. groups
of students such as ROMA, students with special needs).
•
develops a research section for educational issues, including
an Experiential Education Laboratory an National Thematic and
Scientific Networks.

Eleni
Lianou is a Secondary Education teacher
of Informatics and she is currently a Vice Principal at
Second Chance School of Kalamata a public secondary school
for adults, who have dropped out school(sde-kalam.mes.sch.gr).
She is a computer systems engineer and she has been engaged
as an ICT teacher, trainer and instructor to secondary -
higher education and adult education . She holds a Masters
Degree in Graphic Arts & Multimedia specialized in Adult
Education Systems through Adaptive Hypermedia. She is a
qualified ICT instructor from the National Organisation
for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance(EOPPEP
-www.eoppep.gr
) and she participated as an instructor in Erasmus KA1 &
KA2 programs. She is an elementary school Robotics coach
at Open category and with her team(pupils from 6-11 years
old) she participated to the world robotics olympiad for
2017 both regional and national(wrohellas.gr/
).
Spyros
Papadakis is
a School Advisor at the Ministry of Education, Research
and Religious Affairs and Director of the Regional Training
Center of Patras. He lectures Educational Technology as
Adjunct Faculty at the Hellenic Open University and at the
Open University of Cyprus. He holds a Ph.D in Computer Science
and Information Systems from the School of Science and Technology
of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), a Master’s Degree
(M.Ed) in Adult Education (HOU), a Postgraduate Certificate
(PGCE) in Open and Distance Education (HOU) and a Bachelor’s
Degree (B.Sc.) in Mathematics from the University of Patras,
Greece. Spyros is a member of the editorial board of one
international journal and he serves as a reviewer for journals
and conferences. His research involves human-centred design
of advanced technologies for learning, learning design,
distance and blended education and training. It involves
gaining a deep understanding of how people interact, collaborate,
work, and learn as a foundation for the design of novel
e-learning, mobile learning and blended learning systems.
Nikolaos
Papathomopoulos is a Secondary Education
Teacher of Informatics and he is currently teaching in Kardamyli's
Lyceum in the county of Messinia. He holds a Diploma of
Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering from
Technical University of Crete and he is a member of the
Technical Chamber of Greece. He has also received a Master
of Education Sciences in Educational Leadership and Administration
from University of Nicosia. His academic and research interests
include Computer Science and Information Technology Teaching
and Learning, Educational Research and Teachers' Continuous
Professional Development.
Georgia
Spala
is a School Advisor at the Ministry of Education, Research
and Religious Affairs. She holds a PhD in Sociology of Education
from the Panteion University, a Master’s Degree in Electronics
& Telecommunications, a Master’s Degree in Electronic
Automation and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the University
of Athens. She has been engaged as a trainer in Information,
Communication and Technology (ICT) teacher training programs
as regards the use of ICT in Education and has taught IT
in tertiary education, secondary, post-secondary and adult
lifelong learning programs. She has organized dozens of
seminars for primary and secondary school teachers.Her academic
and research interests include Computer Science, Information,
Communication and Technology Teaching as well as Teacher
Professional Development.
Grigoris
Tsonis is an ICT Teacher at the Ministry
of Education, Research and Religious Affairs having lectured
ICT in primary and secondary schools, public institutes
of professional training and the University of Patras. He
holds a National Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics
(B.Eng.) from the School of Engineering of the University
of Patras, Greece and he is currently a M.Sc. student of
the same Department. Grigoris is a member of the Technical
Chamber of Greece – Field of Electronic Engineers and has
worked as a senior researcher in the Research, Academic
Computer Technology Institute (RA/CTI) in a series of national
and European ICT research projects. His main field of expertise
involves digital/analogue electronics, computer architecture,
wireless electronic telecommunication systems, wireless
networks, wireless sensor networks for ambient intelligence
systems, as well as educational software, educational technology
and teaching of informatics, field in which he has contributed
with three papers.
